Scientists and Politicians cannot agree – have to play the blame game

Why is it that two different groups of scientists can come out in the media in the same week, warning of impending dooms and gloom for earth’s population, but for very different reasons?

The mainstream media has only just finished reporting that according to the IPCC:

In another year of wild weather, scientists have issued the clearest warning yet that global warming will produce “unprecedented extreme weather conditions and climate events.”

Following a meeting in Kampala, Uganda, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change confirmed two decades of climate research, putting its findings in polite but stark language of “disaster risk management.”

The IPCC is “virtually certain that increases in the frequency and magnitude of warm daily temperature extremes and decreases in cold extremes will occur in the 21st century on the global scale.”

It is important to note the use of the term (in the above quote) “Global Warming”. This term is (sadly) accepted by all and sundry as meaning Man Made (AGW) Global Warming.

Meanwhile, in today’s alert from Mitch Battros (Earth Changes Media) we learn:

Top international scientists and disaster experts have come together with a sharp message for the world’s political leaders: ‘Get ready for more dangerous and unpredictable weather caused by the Sun’s effect here on Earth.’ (emphasis mine)

The scientific panel was formed by the United Nations and World Meteorological Organization. In the past, it has discussed extreme events which were mostly manipulated by global warming enthusiasts, but this time scientists are putting variant studies together.

Sami Solanki, of the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research (MPISSR) in Katlenburg-Lindau, Germany said: “After looking at data of past solar activity, we have pointed out that it is just as likely that the Sun will go into a grand maximum in the current cycle (24) and then again into a grand minimum in cycle 25.”

Experts fear that without preparedness, crazy weather extremes may overwhelm some locations, making them uninhabitable. This may be the first time a group of differing scientific body’s has focused on the dangers of extreme weather events such as heat waves, floods, droughts and storms.

In August, the U.S. government said the United States had already tied its yearly record for the number of weather disasters with an economic loss of $1 billion or more. I guess it still comes down to the money (and greed) to make significant shifts.

Cycles Which Supersede Cycles
Solar activity increases and decreases in an 11-year cycle, but it also displays broader patterns over longer time scales. The Sun’s activities have a direct casual effect to us on Earth. When the Sun erupts with charged particles in the form of solar flares, coronal holes and CMEs, it has an effect on Earth’s magnetic field; this in-turn, can knock out satellites, power grids and create extreme weather.

Studies have shown massive disasters such as hurricane Katrina or the 2010 heat wave which hit Russia – were most likely related to external influences related to the Sun-Earth connection.(emphasis mine)  Maarten van Aalst, director of the International Red Cross/Red Crescent Climate Center in the Netherlands said: “A pattern of cyclical shifts from smaller events have been noticed.”

Scientists have been tracking solar activity for about 300 years by noting the comings and goings of Sunspots, temporary dark patches on the solar surface that often give rise to powerful flares and CMEs. These records show that virtually no sunspots were observed from 1645 to 1715 – a period of prolonged solar quiescence now known as the Maunder minimum.

The Sun may be coming out of a 70-year-long “grand maximum” of high activity at the end of this cycle, and some astronomers have suggested that our star could now be transitioning toward another Maunder-like minimum.

Scientists investigated this possibility by studying the Sun’s past, have combed through the old sunspot data but also looked at records of certain isotopes of the elements carbon and beryllium, which allowed them to go back much further in time.

These isotopes, carbon-14 and beryllium-10, are produced when fast-moving cosmic ray particles slam into Earth’s atmosphere. Because solar storms help sweep cosmic rays away from our planet, the abundance of carbon-14 and beryllium-10 enables researchers to reconstruct the Sun’s activity as far back as 11,000 years ago. These records show that virtually no Sunspots were observed from 1645 to 1715 – a period of prolonged solar quiescence now known as the Maunder minimum.

A Shift from Specialist Battlegrounds
The debate continues between environmentalists – as to the cause of weather extremes, however, the focus appears to have made a marked shift from solar versus manmade politics, to a focus on the solution.

I would suggest that I am not the only person perplexed when reading these two reports. One seems to be stating the ever stale statement that AGW (you and I) is /are responsible for all earth and weather changes, while the other says we need to look towards our Sun as a strong contributing factor, with some deadly possible consequences.

Of course we cannot levy taxation on the sun, whereas we can on human kind and their various industries. One of these days, hopefully in the not too distant future, political leaders like Julia Gillard (Australia) will be found out and proven without doubt, to have forced the Carbon Dioxide Tax on the Nation of Australia –  without just grounds or sound scientific evidence. The exact opposite of her panic  and politically driven new taxation scheme will be shown to be the reality.

We here on planet earth are part of a larger body – the (local) solar system, which contributes to, if not directly controls our weather systems here on earth. Of course our local system is part of a much larger  system known as the Milky Way Galaxy which is only one part of the as yet known Universe. Solar Cycles have far more influence on us here – on the Blue Planet than she cares to admit – she can’t tax them yet!

One wonders if her paid scientists have informed her yet that the  other planets in our solar system are also undergoing planetary changes akin to what we call global warming? How is she going to tax them? Better still how is she going to explain those planetary changes in light of her fierce adherence to the AGW hoax? Does she know something we don’t? Does she have knowledge that there are intellegent species living there with advanced industries causing pollution and planetary warming? Ah Julia – please pray tell!!!!

  1. Siliggy says:

If we do not destroy our planet by creating geo engineering marvels of the wrong sign first, we may get to see that some of our climate comes from places even external to our solar system.
If you have the download (It is big) check this out. Dr. Paul LaViolette was into cosmic albedo effects and other related stuff a long time before Svensmarks cloud experiment.
Please do not judge the scientist because of who the show comes from but on what he says.
Perhaps start watching 20 min into the vid:

  2. Notice that the media is all about hyperbole. the worst weather since such and such a time, not the worst weather of all time. They sell newspapers they think by always emphasizing apocalyptic scenarios. Otherwise it is just boring to know that normal temperature cycles are the norm and have been for thousands of years.

  4. So many variables. So many virtual unknowns, particularly in terms of quantities and effects.. Such a complicated system, this climate of ours.
Yet a few people think they are smart enough to pin-point CO2 as a significant cause of global temperature variations. Not only that but believe they know exactly how much CO2 is good or bad. In fact, some know they are barking up the wrong tree and have self-interest and greed as motivations.
Meanwhile the Earth spins and orbits the Sun and so on. I dont think Nature has much interest in Man’s Science.
So many people prepared to interfere with our civilization on the pretext of doing good. What a pretext! Good for a few and disaster for the rest.
When Julia eventually cannot deny that the Carbon Tax is a fraud and a failure, will we feel sorry for her? Not really, not as long as we remember that she, and Swann, promised “no Carbon Tax”.
