The Bob is Dead …… slunk off to his forest retreat in the backwoods of Tasmania, leaving many of us wondering why this all happened so quickly. Speculation aside… if there is an underlying story, eventually it will surface. So Bye Bye Bob, so glad to see you gone…. you have implemented something ugly and evil, and now slithered off, leaving others to deal with it.
The Tax won’t affect you, after all you have some outrageous parliamentary retirement plan to protect yourself with, while ordinary families will have to suffer and go without the basic things you will simply (no doubt) take for granted.
In your place we have a new demon to deal with. Such a shame the entire Green Movement in Australia didn’t retire with you.
Senator Milne has pledged to stick to the party’s agreement to back the Prime Minister.
Senator Milne, who was jailed in the campaign to save the Franklin River in 1983, said she was ready for the challenge of leading the party and would pursue the case that climate change was threatening the world.
“We are currently seeing the biggest assault on the environment in Australia we have seen in a very long time,” she said.
Not so very long ago a vast majority of ordinary Australians groaned loudly and painfully when another New Taxation Scheme was announced. This tax will (in this article) be called the Carbon Dioxide Tax, albeit – known by various other names including (plain) Carbon Tax and the Clean Energy Future Bill/Tax. Ostensibly, according to Green Sources this bill is bound to vastly improve the green jobs market in Australia. (who do they think they are fooling?)
Companies will be forced to either innovate their existing technologies or continue to pay the high taxes on the amount of carbon they release. Green Collar Talent’s Jan Rieche explains that companies affected by the legislation will have no option but to employ people to make sure that their operations are compliant with the new tax regime. We can expect carbon abatement projects such as renewable energy and energy efficiency projects will now be approved, thanks to improved planning security. New research and development projects will be also approved by those companies hoping to make their operations less carbon intensive. Mr Rieche believes, furthermore, that we will see more jobs being created in carbon offset generating projects, such as forestry and soil carbon and others. “It’s an exciting time – and one of opportunity too.”
This view is backed up by Tim Wilson, director of the Institute of Public Affairs, who believes that the biggest winner from the bill will be the green jobs sector, “Basically this whole carbon tax-emissions trading scheme is an injection of a green currency…” Under the new tax, the new Clean Energy Finance Corporation, which will be given $10 billion worth of funding to manage and invest in the deployment of clean energy alternatives. If this new money is used correctly, it should provide a large boom for all green jobs in Australia.
Green collar jobs currently make up around 1.5% of all jobs advertised in Australia. Peter Hooper, GreenCollar Talent’s Managing Director, believes today’s news means that the likelihood of a ‘green job boom’ is good. “Now is the time to for us to keep our focus and maintain our efforts to continue supplying only the best available green-collar talent to the renewable energy, carbon and sustainability markets. This is something which has been long-awaited and we are more than ready for the challenge.”
Far be it of me to take Christine Milne to task, I know not the lady personally, but I do have a brain, I fortunately have two eyes, and I read and listen to news reports from around the globe. Therefore I can learn about what is happening worldwide in the realm of Clean Green Jobs, the environment and our hard earned tax dollars.
Ms. Milne is the upfront head of the Green Movement / Watermelon Party here in Australia, and it can only be hoped she is going to end up down the same sink-hole that Bob went down – never to be seen or heard of again. One can only pray that the entire movement goes with her.
Why would I use the word ‘Watermelon’ when referring to the Greens? If you do nothing else with my blog today, I ask you to watch the link above, and learn. Visually this video will turn your stomach! (not suitable for Kiddies)
With characteristic wit and humor, James Delingpole’s latest book, Watermelons: The Green Movement’s True Colors, examines how “Climategate” came about and what it means. By delving into the background of the organizations and individuals who have sought to push global warming to the top of the political agenda, he shows that beneath their cloak of green lurks a heart of red. He explains how the scientific method has been sacrificed on the altar of climate alarmism and argues that the modern environmental movement – at its roots – is not an effort to save the world, but to rule it.
The real sad point is that Christine Milne and her cronies cannot see (or prefer not to see – not want to see) just what they are doing, or attempting to do with their SAVE THE PLANET Clean Green Schemes. No one, least of all me, is going to deny that we need to clean up our act. Pollution is rampant. But pollution does not equate to climate change, and natural climate change does not equate to worldwide manmade disasters, such as the Greens would have you believe it does.
How much money would you estimate has been invested and is currently planned to be invested (by your Government) in clean and green schemes and initiatives? How many of the schemes have gone bottoms up? It seems patiently obvious that once the Government subsidies dry up, the new businesses go out the door backwards!
So your hard earned tax dollars… which are soon (in Australia) to be increased (think Carbon Dioxide Tax) are being collected and pledged to industries that have no real future. No long lasting benefits will be felt, no more permanent jobs will be created, and tons of additional laws, rules and regulations will be put into place to control every aspect of your lives.
If you keep an eye on the financial world, which I do, and especially the green sectors, which I also do, it’s been an interesting time of late. Within the last few weeks, Solar Trust of America (STA), owner of the world’s largest solar plant, filed for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11, and nobody expects much of it, if anything, to emerge from it. STA joins a long list of companies in the solar energy sector, who’ve gone bankrupt, ducked into protection from their creditors, suspended production indefinitely or are simply circling the plughole.
Across the world, a few of the more prominent and expensive casualties are Solyndra, Solar Millennium AG, Energy Conversion Devices Inc, Q-Cells, Solon, Solar Millenium, Solarhybrid, Ener1, Range Fuels, Beacon Power Corp and there’s a whole lot of others. In case you haven’t noticed, it’s probably not a good idea to invest your hard-earned pennies in any company with “solar” in its name. It’s almost as bad a mistake as thinking you had some sort of long-term future employment with one of them.
Nearly all of these companies were the beneficiaries of huge government startup grants or loan guarantees. The products they made were effectively sold to consumers with a subsidy, to make them more attractive. The customers also had the benefit of some generous feed-in tariff schemes. All that money that was sunk into them has now gone and the specific green industry sector it was expected to create is pretty much moribund.
Don’t just take my word for it, do some of your own research on who has gone bottom-up into the pit of bankrupts, never to be seen or heard of again. And it was your money that funded their ill begotten projects in the first place. Did you actually see any return for those investments…? I sure didn’t!
Wind farms, solar farms, fancy-nancy energy efficient flickering light bulbs – just to name a few schemes and dreams are all ways in which our lives are being controlled by the Watermelon Movement. Our Children are now being indoctrinated with a THEORY – which has never been proven, and I bet former teacher Christine Milne is smiling broadly in the sure knowledge that within 15 years people will have forgotten what it is like to live without the nonsensical threat of Anthropogenic Global Warming.
The entire fiasco has nothing to do with saving the planet, it is all
about the Mighty Dollar and Power and Control. I for one
will be seriously glad to see the Greens go into that same
bottomless pit many of the so called Clean Green
Companies have entered.
Never to be seen or heard of again.
If the rest of Australia goes the way of Tasmania
which has a CLOSED FOR BUSINESS sign at all entry points,
well I leave it to your imagination
what state our economy will be in very shortly.
You can say a impolite ‘thank you’ to the Australian Greens
for this fiasco.
