Thank God for the Irish

Paddy and his Leprechaun’s say
‘the science is in’!

I don’t know about you, but personally I get sick and tired at not only the innuendos but also the outright accusations that I myself, my family, my friends, my neighbors and Uncle Tom Cobley – are responsible for the weird world weather – aka  Climate Change – that is happening around the globe.

It’s too hot and we have severe droughts and wildfires. It’s too cold and we have sub-zero temperatures, ultra heavy frosts and snow dumps and generally freezing conditions. It’s too wet and we have floods, crop damage, landslides. The Gulf Stream changes direction and we have Nina’s and Niño’s which cause bad weather events.

Now all the above it true and we do have these severe events, which do cause catastrophes around the world, but are they caused by human kind’s activities? NOT according to the Irish Weather online.

“The most important factor within our weather forecasting calculations is solar activity and other major natural factors that it influences. Radiant energy from the sun is the primary influence on both the earth’s ocean and atmosphere.”

Mind you Paddy is not the only one declaring solar activity as being responsible for changes in the Earth’s weather cycles.

The Highly Intelligent people over at CERN have also challenged the United Nations tame scientists stance that human kind is responsible, via carbon dioxide emissions, of causing climate change.

In a recent blog I wrote:  These reputable men and women have recently come out and categorically said that the SUN – our own local star, is responsible in large part for warming up planet Earth.

Unsurprisingly, it’s a politically sensitive topic, as  it provides support for a “heliocentric” rather than “anthropogenic” approach to climate change: the sun plays a large role in modulating the quantity of cosmic rays reaching the upper atmosphere of the Earth.

So Dear Readers, if you find it difficult to believe a Leprechaun can accurately discern why world weather patterns change so frequently and drastically, perhaps you will give some credence to the folks at CERN, who do I believe fit the description of Reputable Scientists.

Now all we have to do is convince Ban – Ki – moon and his cohorts that there really are leprechaun’s at the bottom of their gardens, and reputable scientists who seriously disagree with the theory (YES THEORY) of anthropogenic climate change. They postulate heliocentric climate change, as part of a natural progression.

Think on this while remembering that a gaggle of AGW’s are currently meeting in NZ, plotting, planning, scheming and conniving how they will continue to perpetuate the myth that YOU and I are responsible for climate change, and how they can tax us heavily while – perpetuating the myth.

Personally I’d rather trust The Leprechaun.

Yeah my money is on the Leprecaun too. 🙂

Yep, will go with the Leprechaun.

    love the leprechaun…

Not according to the CERN scientists themselves. Don’t let any Tom, DIck or Harry tell you what the CERN scientists are saying. Go to primary sources directly. Cut out the middlemen and go to the CERN scientists themselves.

NOT according to the Irish Weather online.

Why listen to them about climate change?
    Where’s the logic?
There’s any number of scientific communities out there studying the Earths climate. NASA is an excellent example. Why go to Irish Weather Online of all choices?
If your passion is all things Irish then you could go to the Irish Meteorological Service Online, (though they probably are part of the global scientific conspiracy, right?).

You don’t use primary sources of information. You are badly misinformed. If you only use primary sources of information, the climate denier talking points and the conspiracy mongering vanish instantly. Test it for yourself. Are there any blog posts on climate change that you have written that could survive based only on primary sources of information?

    • You are entitled to your opinions of course, but I do read original sources. Have you seen this one hour movie which in its own way either adds to or greatly enhances what CERN has put out. Enjoy.

  5. You are entitled to your opinions of course, but I do read original sources.

The idea is to actually use them. You don’t.
You may read them (or maybe not) but you don’t use them.

No, I haven’t. I rely on primary sources of information. It’s good scholarship.
It’s what they teach at university.
When I want to find out about what CERN scientists are doing and what the significance of their work is then…I will go straight to the horse’s mouth.
    I don’t need any middlemen.
    Primary sources.

Can you support this statement using primary sources of information or can’t you?

    • I belive this constitutes a primary source
Henrik Svensmark’s documentary on climate change and cosmic rays

      Straight from the authors mouth

    • Cedric I know not your area of work/science interest etc….. but mine is as a watcher, who enjoys reading what scientists have to say and speculate on in many areas of life.

Today there is a story from NASA whom I consider somewhat credible…… about solar radiation ‘blasting a planet with x-rays’…. see http://www.physorg.com/news/2011-09-star-blasts-planet-x-rays.html

This is NOT earth they are writing about the article states: The planet, known as CoRoT-2b, has a mass about 3 times that of Jupiter (1000 times that of Earth) and orbits its parent star, CoRoT-2a at a distance roughly ten times the distance between Earth and the Moon.
“This planet is being absolutely fried by its star,” said Sebastian Schroeter of the University of Hamburg in Germany. “What may be even stranger is that this planet may be affecting the behavior of the star that is blasting it.”

The reason I bring this up is because it is not impossible that earth is being blasted by our own sun in a similar way, and not only by the sun, but from other cosmic rays from within our own solar system and maybe even beyond.

You see I do go to and quote from primary sources when I can.
The theory of AGW is just that – a theory, and there are other theories out there yet to be given the same amount of time and media attention. The science is NOT IN – it is not a closed issue, even though some in politics would like it to be so. Science is not politics, and should never be confused with politics in my very humble, questioning opinion.

  6. You see I do go to and quote from primary sources when I can.

Then why do you not use them?

Again I ask you, are there any blog posts on climate change that you have written that could survive based only on primary sources of information?

The Highly Intelligent people over at CERN have also challenged the United Nations tame scientists stance that human kind is responsible, via carbon dioxide emissions, of causing climate change.

The science is NOT IN – it is not a closed issue, even though some in politics would like it to be so.

Can you back this up with primary sources?

    Primary vs. Secondary Sources

  7. The science is NOT IN – it is not a closed issue, even though some in politics would like it to be so

do you understand opinion? opinion as primary source… that is my opinion

  8. do you understand opinion? opinion as primary source… that is my opinion

Yet your opinion is informed, right? You are not just indulging in fantasy or repeating idle claptrap, right?
    So what informs your opinion?
Is it primary sources? If so, share.
If not, then be honest about it and admit it.

I’ve seen and read enough about Anthropogenic Climate Change Global warming theory to know that it has been cut dead in it’s tracks simply by looking at the available facts. Maybe you disagree but It’s over, the big scam is out and people are getting pretty peed off at the continued lies from those groups (and believers like you) seeking to influence energy policy by driving up costs and taxes, Listen to me when I say, this carry on about Man driving the climate will not be tolerated by the tax payer for to much longer.
And you want to argue about sources of information, Grow up!! the ‘Irish Weather online’ is as good a source of information as any on Man made Climate Change, Especially when there has never been any empirical evidence to prove it. 🙂

Listen to me when I say, this carry on about from Goo to the Zoo to you will not be tolerated by right-thinking people.

        Pure handwaving.
        (Shrug)

All science deniers sound the same. Only the labels change.
You probably don’t even understand the difference between primary and secondary sources of information.
