PETER GARRETT IS DEFINITELY A COUPLE OF CANS SHORT OF A SLAB! – joke

The Australian Government and the NSW Forestry Service were presenting an alternative to NSW sheep farmers for controlling the dingo population.

It seems that after years of the sheep farmers using the tried and true methods of shooting and/or trapping the predators, the Labour Government (Peter Garrett – Environmental Minister), the NSW Forestry Service and the Greens tree-huggers had a ‘more humane’ solution.

What they proposed was for the animals to be captured alive, the males would then be castrated and let loose again.

Therefore the population would be controlled.

This was ACTUALLY proposed to the NSW Sheep Farmers Association.

All of the sheep farmers thought about this amazing idea for a couple of minutes.

Finally, one of the old boys in the back of the conference room stood up, tipped his hat back and said, ‘Mr Garrett, son, I don’t think you understand our problem, ‘those dingo’s ain’t rooting our sheep, they’re eatin’ ’em.’

You should have been there to hear the roar of laughter as Mr Peter Garrett and the members of the NSW Forestry Service, the Greens and the other “tree huggers” left the meeting very “sheepishly”.

This is one of the things wrong with this country, the Tree Huggers and Morons are running the circus!

Grrrrrrr……………

I wish i was in that room that’s one of the funiest things i have ever heard, i couldn’t stop laughing. This must be one of the most stupid ideas i have ever heard, What they don’t know that a castrated dingo can still eat sheep…..

  2. some politicians it would seem lack basic stuff like ‘common sense’ 🙂

Yeah nikkoh007, it’s very unlikely this is actually real. Aside from the fact the writer spelled the “Labor” party wrong, Peter Garrett is not the “environmental[sic] minister”. This is obviously a joke someone made up, as it says in the title of this post. Rather funny, but not something to base your opinions on.

  4. according to Wiki ~~~~ After the Labor Party won in the November 2007 election, Garrett was appointed Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.[6] On 8 March 2010, his portfolio title was changed to Environment Protection, Heritage and the Arts.[7] He continued in this role in Julia Gillard’s first Ministry.

Very similar to a coyote story going around the US a few years back, possibly another one of those urban myths, that never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
